ICA Technician Location: Field-based – Hardham & multiple sites across Southern England Contract: Permanent Salary: £37,260 to £47,610 (plus overtime & on-call bonus) Hours: 38 hours/week Vehicle: Company van and fuel card provided (for business use) The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Technician to support operations at water treatment facilities across Southern England. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys fieldwork, technical problem-solving, and contributing to essential public infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Maintain, calibrate, configure, and repair plant instrumentation, control systems, and telemetry equipment. Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on a range of equipment including flow meters, detectors, turbidity meters, alarms, and shutdown systems. Implement improvements to control systems and processes. Support planned and reactive maintenance to ensure optimal plant operation. Accurately document work to meet compliance and quality standards. Coach and train junior team members as required. Participate in paid on-call and occasional out-of-hours work. What You’ll Need NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or time-served apprenticeship. Experience in a process-driven industry (e.g., water, petrochemical, energy, manufacturing). Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with instrumentation, automation, and control systems. Good communication and documentation skills. A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn. Full UK driving licence (essential).
